You could try breathing exercises (or pranayama) especially Kapalbati as taught by Yogi Ramdev in India. His programme is broadcast everyday on a channel called Astha. It is also available in DVD form. My friend tried it and he says he has not had a single attack for one year. Another good cure i have heard abt is the fish therapy they do somewhere in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. Hope this helps. Get well soon!

Asthma is a disease and there is no cure, only treatment. Asthma will most likely never be cureable because no one really knows what causes it. Throughout life it is known to come and go. People with asthma can have a slight case of it (like my brother who only has problems with asthma for about two weeks out of the whole year) or a severe case like mine where I've been suffering daily since I was a year old (I am now 19) and on several steirods and currently getting help from a pulmonary specialist. It is possible to strengthen your lungs but asthma can still pose a serious threat since asthma is a part of your immune system not your lungs.

You can get rid of it for a time, but it usually finds its way back. I have been asthma free for 8 months after having a 3 month long episode where i coughed so hard i think i cracked a rib. It was a horrible 3 months. But for the last 8 months no problem whatsoever. Try and learn what triggers your asthma and take ur meds when u need to.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for asthma. If you are a child it may only be temporary. A lot of kids get asthma but it goes away as they grow older. Just continue to use your inhalers and take your medications when needed. You'll soon find out what triggers your attacks, you'll avoid what causes them, and then you'll pratically be asthma free.

- I'm currently going to school to be a Respiratoy therapist....I know all about asthma!

If you can't get rid of it from your prescription meds then the best bet is through swimming. Just go swimming and be active with sports and eventually this condition will go away.
