Why do you feel more sick in the morning and evening than in the daytime when having a cold or a sore throat?

I have recently had a sore throat and I almost suffocated in the evenings and mornings but got on quite well in the daxtime. How come?

she is partly right about the draining. But also when you sleep you get really dry. that is why sore throughts are so bad in the morning....BUT at night....you get worse because you are tired...by the end of a long day a sick body will just want to shut down.

Because your sinuses drain down your throat when you lay down.

because you are typically more activeduring the day. when your body is just starting up or winding down, the illness is actentuated
