No vitamins or any dietary supplements can make your chest xray 'look better'. There are lot of factors that effect your chest xray which are not related to ur lungs for example technique used and the amount of exposure. So you can have two very diff looking xrays(for a laymans eyes and not radiologist's) of same set of lungs. If you stop smoking there will be a very gradual change in your lungs and it will look lot different after 10 years or so. And remember your risk os getting lung cancer reaches normal population level after 15 years from the time you quit smoking SO IF you stop smoking today your risk of having lung cancer will be similar to those who never smoked in their lives after 15 years.

Doctors will tell you what to do and what not to do. And before they give you an x ray, they make you drink this liquid so that your x rays show up better.
