I am on prednisone, albuterol, augmentin, and I take Wellbutrin. Out of nowhere I feel suicidally depressed and high, except not a good high. This is awful. I feel disconnected from the rest of the world and extremely sad... beyond sad. Does anyone have an idea as to what drug interactions may have caused this? I just looked in the mirror and my eyes are totally dilated. Like I said, I feel extremely scared and extremely depressed.

Call your Doctor or go to the hospital.

No wonder! I'm stunned that any physician would...no I'm not, actually...prescribe all those things together! They NEVER read the drug interaction warnings. Prednisone alone (a steroid) can produce all kinds of negative reactions, both physical and psychological, even though it's not an anabolic steroid, like athletes sometimes use. It can permanently mess up your system! I have chronic asthma and my doctor refused to prescribe it (except in inhaler form--Azmacort--very little enters the blood stream).

Augmentin should be enough, or if that isn't working, your bronchitis may be caused by a mycoplasm, a primitive kind of bacteria that only responds to drugs like erythromycin (mycoplasma causes "walking pneumonia").

The albuterol is also commonly used for asthma, and while many can tolerate it, it causes rapid heartbeat, anxiety and even panic. It can also mess with your heart rhythms and even cause DEATH! Stop taking it! It also should NOT be taken with STEROIDS!:

As for Wellbutrin; it's a powerful antidepressant. These should NEVER be given (A) to someone who is not depressed and (B): to younger people, as it has a "paradoxic" effect; that is, it can make you manic and even cause psychosis! Again: What was your doctor thinking?! Anti-depressants have NO place in treating bronchitis.

Here's an article on the above poison--er "drug":

You need a REAL doctor, who knows what he/she's doing! And you might talk to your parents about SUING the quack you're seeing! Hope you solve this quickly. I feel very bad that your own "doctor" put you through this!

talk to your doc. obviously something's not right.

i usually don't take meds if i have bronchitis, besides like a vitamin c tablet or a nasal decongestant. just drink lots of water and sleep. works wonders.

but yeah, if it's doing weird things like you say, immediately call your doctor, or whichever doctor is on call, and ask.
