Listen to KRB, yes it is. My best friend had it in his place and his daughter got very sick from it.
He ended up having the house burned down by the local fire dept. (Mind you we live in the country, and they used it for a training issue for 4 different departments.) Catch it early and get it taken care of.
Yes black mold can be dangerous, it can cause allergies, asthma attacks, and even infections if inhaled.

Just try to get rid of it. Look at the bottom of the shower curtain and if it is mildly stained with mold, it is worth cleaning. If it is stained to the point that the only thing you can see is mold. Rinse the curtain with warm water. Make the bleach solution. In a clean spray bottle, mix equal amounts of bleach and water. Spray the bleach solution on the mold. After you have finished, leave the bleach on for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse the curtain with water.Prevent further mold. After you shower, keep the bathroom door and any windows open for 15 minutes and stretch the shower curtain out. By keeping the curtain closed, the water in the creases is unable to evaporate.
